… in the style of Walt Whitman as conceived by ChatGPT

After hearing and reading so much about ChatGPT, a friend suggested I could use it for my bread baking. Not to actually bake my bread, of course, but to help me create a new recipe or do whimsical things like write a poem about bread. I thought a poem would be fun, and here it is:

O Whole Wheat Sourdough Bread! how rich thy taste,
A loaf of life, in every slice embraced,
The grains of wheat, now mingled with the yeast,
A feast for senses, a heavenly feast.
Thou art the product of the earth and air,
The sun and rain, the soil so rich and fair,
Thy crusty exterior, a work of art,
A testament to the baker’s craft.
With each bite, a symphony of flavor,
A hint of sourness, a hint of savour,
A chewy texture, a wholesome delight,
A nourishment for body and soul so bright.
O Whole Wheat Sourdough Bread! how blessed,
A food that fills us up, and keeps us refreshed,
Thou art a symbol of our connection,
To nature, to life, to our own reflection.
So let us break bread, and share the love,
Let us celebrate this gift from above,
Let us give thanks to the grains of wheat,
For nourishing our bodies, and making life sweet.
